Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Starting on 20th April 2015, a group of staff and students from Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM) will be cycling 4,247 miles, the equivalent distance from Liverpool to Freetown, in Sierra Leone, to raise funds for urgently needed medical equipment for health facilities in Sierra Leone affected by the Ebola outbreak. The George Brook Clinic in Freetown, the Kenema Government Hospital Maternity Unit and the Kailahun Government Hospital Maternity Unit, urgently need medical equipment to improve maternal and newborn health services.  Participants will be led by LSTM's Centre for Maternal and Newborn Health (CMNH), who are working with the health facilities and the Government of Sierra Leone to train health workers through the highly successful Making it Happen programme.
