We recognize that building a multicultural school requires an ongoing commitment of time, energy and resources not only to advancing our school spaces, but to our practices as well we are committed to teaching students to consider different perspectives, examine their own beliefs and respond respectfully to the ideas of others.
Love of Learning celebrates interdisciplinary learning in our curriculum, instilling a deliberate awareness of the multitude of identities which intersect to inform the cooperative nature of our communities. The intersections of our knowledge, experiences and backgrounds exist beyond the borders of our campus. Love of Learning Montessori School has been a beacon of alternative education on Long Island for over 21 years.
This year, many schools are closed, leaving students to learn on devices and technology all day. Students are struggling with the challenges of being remote, physically and emotionally.
Here at Love of Learning, we are in person, 5 days a week every day since opening in September. Our students are thriving this year as they learn in our outdoor classrooms and build social connections with their friends and teachers. They are supported socially and emotionally, in addition to being academically challenged.
COVID-19 has had a crushing effect on our ability to offer Tuition Assistance. While we understand community support of Healthcare is important, we cannot forget that our children need resources and support as well. We need the continued generous support of our community to make alternative education available to children of all social/economic situations. Thank you.
