Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page, which was born out of two strands.

I grew up watching the Tour de France with my family, all of us  gathered around the television to catch the highlights each day. As long as I can remember I dreamed of taking part, dancing up mountains - they were always the most dramatic of stages - and sprinting away from the pack on the Champs Elysees. The latter may be out of reach for now, but  this challenge gives me the opportunity to test myself against the  alpine climbs with a bunch of other foolhardy souls. My feelings at the  prospect - excitement, fear and joy.

The second is my dad's terminal illness, which has obviously had a big impact on the family. The support he has received from Mesothelioma UK has been greatly appreciated and highlighted the need for smaller, less fashionable charities to receive funding to continue their vital work.
