Story
The show, Leleka takes its name from the traditional Ukrainian bird symbolising freedom, love and a longing for the native homeland. We are seeking to raise awareness and showcase the beauty of Ukrainian culture and heritage, which its people are fighting so hard to preserve.
The performance on Saturday 28th May at Jacksons Lane Theatre will showcase the wonderfully vibrant traditional Ukrainian music and dance and will be supported by groups of international performers. Artists, musicians and dancers in solidarity and support of each other in the spirit of love and freedom.
We are raising money for the “Ukraine Emergency Appeal” run by the Lumos Charity. All ticket proceeds and donations will go directly to the Appeal.
Please keep your eyes peeled for further information about the showcase.
For those of you who would like to contribute further or who cannot attend the showcase, please donate!
Right now, children in Ukraine face an uncertain future and are at risk of displacement and family separation. We urgently need your support to help protect as many children as we can by providing emergency food, hygiene and medical kits, and by helping to support families and foster carers to look after displaced and traumatised children.
Your gift and partnership will support the reunification of children with their families, provide emergency aid, and allow our team to advocate for children and ensure they aren’t forgotten in this time of crisis.
