Story
Why? In the year I was born, the UK set up the 1970 Trees Act to assist with the preservation of trees and associated lands. 5 decades on the Act is still in place but are our trees?
What? In honour of the Tree Act, I will dedicate this decade to planting trees, assisting with the maintenance of our woodland, tree corridors, creating edible gardens for schools and ensuring the future generations benefit from these noble plants.
How? Each year in the 2020s donations will be made to an amazing charity Trees for Cities.
2020 - £6 will cover the cost of planting one tree, and the total for this year will set the bar for the rest of this decade.
Who? This first year is from the generosity of family and friends....then I will commit to matching this page each year of this decade. The target is 500 trees a year (£3,000 pa) = 5,000 trees this decade (£30,000), also supporting tree maintenance - so a stretch goal of £50,000....go bold or go home right??.
Thank you, to all involved...together we can improve our environment by acting today to preserve our nature so it has a future.

Watch this space for more updates on progress over the decade!(The page can only be set for 5yrs...so its a good incentive to check in half way through the decade!)
