We provide a lifetime of support to the wider Army Family.

Story

On the 25th Anniversary of the Gulf War we will be riding from London, UK to Arnhem, Netherlands, via Dover, Dunkirk and Ypres.

The ABF  The Soldiers’ Charity are for soldiers, for life. They provide financial assistance to all soldiers and their families when in need. Even when a soldier leaves the Army they are still  eligible for  help. the Scope of work is huge. Half their money is given direct to individuals to help in areas such as debt relief, mobility assistance, education bursaries, carehome fees and respite breaks. The other half is given as grants to other charities.

London to Arnhem in 1 Day -- Mission Accepted.

Bikers will meet in London at Westminster where last minute checks will be made and we'll set our eyes to the prize.

Bikers will depart from here and head along the ancient route called The Pilgrim's Way & then the A20 on the convoy's first leg to Folkstone where they will catch the Shuttle.

Bon Voyage! Le Shuttle will transport all the battle clad bikers for a sub-terrainian infiltration into France. From here, Calais, the group will journey East to Dunkirk, following a route close enough to the shores that we may see one of two remaining ship wrecks.

Completing Leg 2 a brief stop and 2 minutes silence will be held in Dunkirk's Cemetery and Memorial to pay respects to the commonwealth troops that fought there in both World Wars.

Again, leaving, the cohort will set in the direction of the rising sun, east, onwards to Ypres & Flanders Fields. But not before a special ride through Diksmuide to see a very special Monument which will be detailed in the write up.

Flanders Fields are of particulare interest on our mission. For four long years Flanders Fields were the scene of the First World War. Homes and fields were turned into a battlefield in 1914. European and wider international interests were fought over here. A million soldiers were wounded, missing or killed in action. Some tens of thousands of citizens became refugees. Entire cities and villages were destroyed. A hundred years later we wish to commemorate the victims of this war and condemn senseless war violence. It is where thoughts lie when we donate and display our iconic Poppies. We won't be stopping at the hundreds of memorials here, sadly, 'Flanders Fields' does not comprise of one single geographical location which we can stop at. We will be travelling through them on our way to our next destination.

ONWARDS! To Chemin des Vertes Bornes and the Route du Lion we shall venture during Leg 4. It's within Waterloo where we will meet our most ferocious & magnificent monument yet. Here we may even be blessed by Alex's singing voice. Pilgrims travel from all over to see the Lion's Mount. Great that we took the Pilgrim's Way in England. We'll stop here to get fed and prepare ourselves for the final push in Leg 5 which will take us to our final destination, Arnhem.

Leg 5 - it's going to be a slog. This is the challenge part and we're doing it for the fallen. Those who gave their lives when there was little choice between running in fear or standing to fight what would become a world changing incident. We're doing it for those who chose to stand ground and defend those unable; too weak, too young, too old, too fearful and those allies who had already perished fighting by their sides.

At completion we'll arrive at [VENUE/BED PLACE TBA] where we can finally rest easy. Well done & thank you.
