Tough Mudder 5K London West 2019 · 4 May 2019 to 5 May 2019 ·
I'm doing a Tough Mudder in May to see how far I can push my body. But if I'm going to come and die, I may as well come and die for a good cause.
In 2018 the homeless charity Shelter recorded 320,000 people as homeless in the UK, up 4% year on year. This means that one in every 200 Britons is either sleeping rough or living in temporary accommodation, such as hostels and B&Bs.
This issue is particularly acute among young people. Violence, abuse, family breaking and problems with mental health – young people often become homeless because it’s safer to leave home than to stay.
So I'm raising money for the amazing charity Centrepoint. We all see how many homeless people there are sleeping rough, especially in London. This has made me think; I'm lucky enough to have a supportive family so that if everything went wrong, I would be able to go back.
Centrepoint helps 10,000 homeless young people every year who don't have that. It gives them shelter, but also ongoing support. 86% then move into their own homes, connect back with their families, get their first jobs or go to university.
Please give generously; every penny you donate goes straight to the charity. I really appreciate it! And when my body is destroyed, it will all be worth it.
