Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On the 6th February this year, my Nan passed away in the Royal United Hospital. Thankfully it wasn't Covid. It's horrible that we have to specify that now isn't It? And thankfully she was surrounded by her loved ones, including my lovely Mama, who had just got over Covid and we were unsure whether she would be able to go to the hospital to say her goodbyes.
As I'm sure most of you who are reading this page know, I am currently in Australia. I have been deeply saddened that I was not able to spend time with my lovely Nan during her final days. However, due to the advances of technology these days, I was able to FaceTime her at the hospital to say my goodbyes to her, and I am so happy that everyone she loved got to speak to her.
I have decided that I would like to do my bit and I have decided that I am going to run Brisbane Marathon on 6th June in memory of my wonderful Nan. I would like to raise money for the Friends of the RUH charity and I would like to donate the money I raise to the Respiratory Ward where my Nan was looked after, to say thank you for everything they did for her.
Now, this isn't going to be easy for a multitude of reasons. One being, I haven't ran a marathon since 2017, the furthest I have run since 2019 is 15k. Another reason being that the Marathon is only a few months away. The final reason being that I currently live in Darwin in the Northern Territory which is known to be really rather hot and humid!
However, with all that said, I am determined to run it! I have started training, with a few runs under my belt and a lot of long runs in the not so distant future!
It certainly isn't going to be easy. But if it was, everyone would be doing it. Knowing that I am running it in memory of my Nan will get me through it
I an extremely grateful for any donations made. I will put my all into this, and just know that this will mean the World to me and my family.
Thank you so so much

My family want to thank the respiratory ward for all that they did for my Nan.
