Kirsty's Step challenge

Step challenge · 11 September 2020
I am doing this challenge to improve my fitness while raising money for a very worthy charity.
I have suffered with mental health illness since the age of 13 although wasn’t actually diagnosed until the age of 15. My diagnosis’ are, Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder, Complex Post Traumatic stress disorder and Depression. Two and a half years ago my life became so unbearable. I saw no light at the end of the tunnel and thought killing myself was my only option. I jumped from a 40ft bridge causing many injuries. My left heel was completely smashed, my left ankle was an open fracture, I broke 3 bones at the bottom of my spine, my sternum was broke and my wrists were broken. After an operation to insert metal screws and plates into both wrists and my left foot i spent a month in the general hospital. I was then transferred to my local mental health hospital where I continue to stay. I couldn’t walk for a while. I had a moon boot on, a cast on each wrist and a back brace on. I couldn’t do anything for myself. The hospital provided daily Physiotherapy for me so I could do exercises to learn how to move my wrists which then went on to me using a gutter frame and learning to walk again. I now have a walker that I use to get about. I’ve been doing more walking recently and to keep myself motivated I thought I would do this challenge to get fitter and improve my health as well as raising money for a great cause which I’ve heard first hand from service users how great the support is that they receive. Also I will be discharged from hospital soon to supported accommodation and it is run by this charity.
If you could sponsor me I’d be so grateful as it will show what support I have out there as well as helping many people with mental health illness.
Thank you for taking the time to look at my just giving page :)
