Event: Wells Fargo trip to Zambia, from 25 April 2014 to 3 May 2014
We safe and decent homes for families to build new lives, hopes and opportunities

Story

In April 2014, I will be travelling to Zambia with some of my colleagues at Wells Fargo to help with a Habitat for Humanity ("H4H") house building project.

This will be a full on week of building in the Zambian heat. Although the week is set to be tough, I have no doubt the reward of helping those are in desperate need for housing will make it worthwhile.

H4H works with communities around the world, helping them to fight poverty through building safe, decent homes.

H4H works in Zambia to build and renovate houses for orphans and vulnerable children and their caregivers. Vulnerable children and orphans are extremely common in Zambia, due to the high prevalence of HIV/AIDS. The homes built will be simple but of high quality. http://www.habitatforhumanity.org.uk/Zambia?

Throughout this project, I will have the opportunity to work shoulder to shoulder with the local people in the village we will be based in to help them build a new future free from the horrors of povery housing.

The money raised will help H4H fund the building projects in Zambia and to change the lives of those who are in real need of safe housing.

About the charity

We believe decent homes are the heartbeat of strong communities and so we also fight for land rights for women, upgrade urban slums and informal settlements, improve access to water and sanitation, and help communities become more resilient in the face of natural disasters.
