I am running the Dublin Marathon in aid of Help For Heroes.  Our soldiers are quite literally putting their lives on the line every day for their country - it is a truly honourable and courageous thing that they are doing.

Some of those soldiers will not return from the battle alive; others are coming back with tough challenging wounds, both physical and mental; they need your help and support.

As a serving soldier, I am inspired by what my colleagues have done and are continuing to do; I am humbled to call myself their brother in arms.  I want to do my little bit to help. 

If trogging round Dublin for 26 miles can raise some funds that in turn can be used to support my wounded colleagues then that is a good thing to do.

Let me do something on your behalf to support them.  I'll do the miles on the road for you, in turn you can help fund me.  Please give generously - the people that this money is going to help have given very generously.  Many have lost limbs, have been scarred and will not know the comfortable life that you and I have.  Indeed a large number of families have given the ultimate sacrifice, their son or daughter, brother or sister, husband, wife or partner.
