Story
At Kinder Park Nursery, we love animals and know the importance of educating the children about being kind to animals and how to care for them.
We regularly talk about our children’s own pets and have pet photos in the rooms to encourage these conversations.
We also like to talk about wild animals and where they live
by reading books and looking at pictures.
We have adopted a rhino through the WWF to help encourage
conversations about endangered animals around the world and get regular updates which we share with the children.
We are also members of the Jane Goodall 'Roots and shoots'
programme and take ideas and activities that we can enjoy with our children.
To help our children further understand the plight of some
animals in need, we have decided we would like to raise money for a local animal charity and involve the children in helping us to do this.
Each nursery room will have an activity/ treasure hunt to do during the week commencing 11 April, National Pet Day. We would love all of our children to enjoy an animal walk with their families and see how many animals they can see on their walk and then send us some pictures of them. The animals can be from a beetle to a horse!
Our closest animal charity is Oak Tree who do a fantastic
job in looking after neglected or unwanted dogs, cats, ponies etc and rehoming them responsibly.
Rebecca from the Baby and Toddler room adopted her beloved
cat, Belle from there and we know any money raised will be vital in helping with the care of these animals.
We want this to be a fun and educational experience for your
children, while letting them be a part of raising money for the animals.
As well as donating to the Kinder Park Nursery just giving
page for Oak Tree Animals Charity, we will also have a donation box at nursery. Donations of pet food, blankets, toys etc will be most welcome.
Whether you choose to donate pet food etc. or make a one-off donation, we are enormously grateful for your support.
Thank you.
