This year to celebrate my birthday I am fundraising for a small charity, Joliba Trust, which works with communities in the Sahel region of Mali, West Africa.  You all know how keen I am on planting trees. Well, they do tremendous work - growing and planting trees (including fruit and nut trees for food), stabilising dunes, restoring eroded soil and re-generating forests.  They are in dire need of extra funding at the moment, otherwise projects will have to be cut. They also work to empower women through micro-finance and through maternal health projects.  Such a worthwhile cause, with very low overheads.  So a small donation of £1 could be used to plant 10 trees or £7.50 could provide 10 grafted fruit trees.  Your donation will go towards all the current projects.
