Story
I am on a liquid only diet for at least 6 months while I await stomach surgery. I am on blood thinners for 6 months after developing bilateral pulmonary embolisms, which has delayed my surgery - hence the liquid diet (no, not Chianti and Chardonnay, just only food that can pass through a sieve. If it can't go through a sieve, I can't eat it!). Whilst I have no choice in this and it is not like running marathons or doing a long distance walk, it will take some endurance on my part. If you feel able to donate 10p for every evening meal you have for the next 200 days, that will be £20. If you feel generous, you could donate an extra £5 when you are eating your Christmas dinner and Boxing Day turkey leftovers and Christmas cake (I will be having soup and ice cream). As a foodie and wife of an excellent cook, I am missing normal food. I would like to make a positive out of a miserable situation and use this time to raise much needed funds for repairs to St Mary's Church, Great Henny. It is a beautiful church dear to my heart. Our children were christened there and our daughter was married there.
St Mary's Church needs your help! The walls are cracking and the current estimate to stabilise the building by underpinning the vestry is £50,000. Please help save this beautiful ancient building for our community. With this year's Henny fete cancelled and services suspended, the church is lacking vital financial support when it needs it most.
Thank you for your support and your donation, no matter how big or small.
