Story
Hi, I'm Kiera. I've been given an amazing opportunity to travel to Asira in Palestine for 2 months to volunteer with SkatePal and change the lives of young people living under occupation there.
I'm from Burton-on-Trent, but am now living in Manchester. I work as a skateboarding coach at Graystone Action Sports in Salford because I have endless love for the sport and community. It's changed my life in countless ways and I'm beyond thankful for it. I feel as though it's time I pass on the message to young people in as many areas as possible.
SkatePal are a non-profit organisation that work to inspire and change the lives of young people living under occupation in Palestine, through skateboarding. Since 2013 they have been building skateparks, communities, and spreading the love of skateboarding to countless young people in Palestine. I find their organisation inspiring, and it's an honour to be a part of their mission.
I will be holding a skate event at Graystone Action Sports soon to raise money for this trip, and details will be on my social media. In the meantime, any shares of this page or donations are greatly appreciated.
All funds raised will go towards covering expenses of my time in Palestine, including food, travel and accommodation, as well as the maintenance of SkatePal's projects.
