We Raise awareness of these cancers to support patients, carers & families

Story

Our dear uncle Dai, a young handsome man with a witty sense of humour. Born in Lincolnshire, lived in Reading. Experienced symptoms of acid reflux and coughing and was unfortunately diagnosed with Oesophageal Cancer in 2020 - A cancer that's found anywhere in the oesophagus, sometimes called the gullet or food pipe.

Dai really did try and put up a fight, with the help of his amazing mum Ruth, my ‘super nan’ and his wonderful sisters, he was given specialist treatments, radiotherapy and PEG feeding (percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy) a procedure in which a flexible feeding tube is placed through the abdominal wall and into the stomach. This allows nutrition, fluids and/or medications to be put directly into the stomach, bypassing the mouth and oesophagus.

However, after endless trials and efforts to bring Dai back to his previous health over the past year. He sadly lost his battle with Cancer on Thursday 21st January 2021.

Dai will be truly missed by everyone.

Myself and my family will be completing our own individual challenges throughout the month of March to raise awareness and funds for this chosen charity ‘The Oesophageal Patients Association’

I personally will be completing 50 miles a week during March to support this fundraising challenge.

It would mean so much to me and my family if you could donate to this page and help us to make a difference.

Thank you !!
