It's been confirmed the distance I actually swam was 2.56 miles :) instead of 1.3!!! So so happy

Due to a problem with the trailer for the safety boat the swim has changed its now from ryde fort to ryde beach @ 8am

Oh my god I'm so excited slash nervous for this! I am so overwhelmed by the response I've had from friends, family, even strangers and thanks to the Co-op in ryde and to ryde swimming pool for putting out sponsorship buckets. This means so much to me and I can imagine being a blubbering mess by the end of it. My granddad who died from it and my nan who has this disease now are the most amazing people and I owe them everything. Thank you all again for helping me do this. Love Kerry xxxx

You all know how much this charity means to me, loosing my Granddad 18months ago to this and my Nan who still suffers due to it, has been the hardest time for not only my Grandparents but the family who have been to hell and back helping support each other to care for them. My Granddad had a passion for swimming and taught not only myself but his children and his other grandchildren, so i felt that it only right to give something back.

The amount of work that goes into caring for people with Alzhiemers/Dementia is astounding. And the carers whether they be qualified, family, or friends are unsung heros in my eyes. Im doing this not only for my Grandparents but to raise money to go towards help and research.

Ive been training for 2 months now and have a couple of months left to go. Hoping to do the swim on Sat 14th July 2012 at 7am, from Hurst Point to CoIwell bay on the Isle of Wight, I'm so excited to be doing this! So please please help me raise the £500 towards this worthy cause. Anything will help. Thank you all so much.
