Hello from the Burns Girls!

Many celebrations have been cancelled this year and although times are tough, we wanted to mark what would have been Kenny's 60th Birthday on 18th November 2020.

As many of you know, Kenny lost his battle with Sacoma cancer on 22nd November 2010 and in order to keep his memory going, we decided to hold a Northern Soul night to raise funds for the charities that helped him during his illness. Kenny’s many friends in the Northern Soul circuit and at the Greenock Pineapple Club helped to make the first year a roaring success and it was decided that we would hold the event annually.

Over the years we have had some fantastic soul nights raising a total of just over £13,000 for various charities, and this year was to be our big 10^th Anniversary bash, however Covid quickly put a halt to that!

Instead of giving up on the idea completely and to mark the 10 year milestone, we are asking anyone who knew Kenny to donate to Ardgowan Hospice and help us to celebrate this special year in which he would have turned 60.

As a special 60^th birthday present, it would be greatly appreciated if you could donate what you can, or the price of a soul night ticket (£5) to this very worthwhile cause. We would also love for you to share your memories and photos of Kenny and the last 9 years of Pineapple Soul nights via this page.

Unfortunately we can’t provide the dancefloor this year but you’re more than welcome to have a dance around the kitchen in memory of Kenny!
