Story

On Friday 7th, Saturday 8th & Sunday 9th of August 2020 Myself (Ken Batty) and Allan Sloan will be Cycling approx 305 miles over 3 Days covering 100+ miles each day.

We are taking on this challenge in Memory of my late father in law  -- JIM LAW. Jim was married to his wife Jean who was sadly diagnosed with Alzheimer's, together they found CentreStage who provided Musical & Singing therapy meetings. Jim was a devoted musician who loved playing the keyboard and singing in his ceilidh band. Jim became a volunteer at CentreStage where they gave him something to get up for each day and they helped Jim come to terms with his wife, Jean's diagnosis. Jim quickly became a regular at the venue helping the team, he also entertained with the team at the headquarters and at care homes and many other venues. Jim also became an ambassador for CentreStage and volunteered on many charity events. Jim also became a cast member in some of the shows that were presented by CentreStage. Jim soon became an integral part of the CentreStage community and was much loved by all the Staff and other volunteers. This was evident by the amazing turnout at Jim's funeral and the superb tribute paid by the staff of Centrestage at the funeral and also at the burns supper where they paid tribute to Jim.

This is my way of paying tribute to Jim and to CentreStage for what they both have done for each other and all those who were and are less fortunate than ourselves.

RIP Jim Law, much missed by your family & friends....
