Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Ken spent his last days at The Palliative Care ( PCU) Ward 5 at Rake Lane, North Tyneside General Hospital. At the end of his life it was Ken's choice to be here, being cared for the brilliant staff and team on this ward.
In Ken's memory the family ask for no flowers, but we felt it fitting to make a donation to the Ward 5 PCU.
Ken was a well know character in North Shields, and in particular the Pineapple Inn in the town, who have passed on this fitting tribute -
"It was a big shock for us loosing him as he was like family to us, and played a big part in our community. He was very a kind, funny and blunt guy"
We know the locals will raise a glass to Ken when covid restrictions have passed, cheersing our ' Local Hero'.
A small family funeral will held at 1.30pm on Wednesday 11th November 2020 at Tynemouth Crematorium. Friends are welcome to listen to the service via loudspeaker outside the crematorium. A drive by the Pineapple Inn will take place at approximately 1.00pm on the way there.
Ken was only 62 and died 2 months after his diagnosis of lung cancer.
