Sharon, Lynn, Craig and Stuart are inviting friends and family to donate to the Critical Care Ward at the Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care hospital.

Dad (Ken) was poorly for some time but none of us knew just how bad. With a chesty cough running into Christmas, he was admitted on the 27th December and improved over 2 days, before being diagnosed with end stage lung cancer and passing away peacefully on 3rd January 2022.

The critical care ward was not a palliative care unit, but were truly exceptional in going above and beyond to accommodate family visiting; and in dealing with Dads stubbornness in pretending not to be in any pain to 'not make a fuss'.

We're so lucky that he was in great care and was able to pass peacefully away with the minimal fuss he wanted.
