Story

My brave, handsome, adventurous, vivacious, bold, intelligent, fun, loving husband Robert lived life to the limits with no regrets. He died on the 16th of July 2022 after being diagnosed with advanced lung cancer 9 months earlier. He has left a gaping big black hole behind, but the 10 years we have been together have been filled with so much love, adventure, laughter, and memories that were only possible because of the one and only Robert Press!!! I thought we would be together forever, but quite often the special ones are taken away before their time. So please if we have learnt anything LIVE, LOVE, and go on ADVENTURES.

I promised Robert that Henry and myself would fundraise in his name to enable his spirit to live on. St Christopher's Hospice provides a warm and supportive space for people who are trying to navigate through the most difficult and painful times of their lives. It is an incredibly difficult job to do, but it is done with genuine thoughtfulness and commitment to providing an holistic approach, acknowledging the wider impact of someone's illness on their life and that of their friends and family.  Without the hospice, their amazing lemon cheesecake, coffee and their lovely Cat Colin, Henry and myself would be in a very different space. Very few people will understand what it feels like to lose a husband at 40 and what it is to lose their daddy just after turning 4, but St Christopher's have helped us every step of the way with compassion and thankfully no pity!!!!!

This hospice was the first of its kind anywhere in the world and is still regarded as a leading centre of support and research into palliative and end of life care, with people around the word benefitting from their training and knowledge. As sad as it sounds, there will always be terminal illnesses and having St Christopher's is vital in providing the best in end of life care!

So please dig deep and donate in Robert's legacy, any donation you can make will be gratefully received ❤ ..... even if its just in lieu of a sympathy card and stamp!!!!!
