Story
My sister Tracey was diagnosed with bowel cancer in October 2015. She fought the disease with a courage and determination that still leaves me in awe. One of her ambitions had been to skydive and we decided to do it together. Before we had the chance to tick this off her bucket list, her health deteriorated too quickly and spoiled our plans.
After an immense battle, she died in May last year. And whilst the loss for myself and my family is more than can be put into words, I am honoured and proud to have had such a beautiful, kind and wonderful soul to call my sister and my friend. I will continue to be inspired by her immense bravery, love, spirit and humour. This jump is for her, lovely bird.
Tracey’s best friend Fiona was also diagnosed with terminal Cancer in November last year. She confronted it with the same strength
of character and was cared for in St David’s Hospice, before sadly passing away in March.
Unfortunately Tracey and Fiona didn’t keep a swear box, if they did I’d already have exceeded my fundraising target by now. The money raised by my skydive will continue to fund the wonderful work of the hospice and enable them to offer invaluable support, love and care to other patients and families during immensely difficult times. A price on which it is impossible to give.
And so for Tracey. And Fiona. And for strong women everywhere who face adversity with courage, spirit and laughter…
…….Tally Ho, Let’s go!
