Story
Our wonderful man was taken too soon. Keith sadly passed away, aged 46, following a severe attack of acute pancreatitis. The personal stories on the Guts UK website mirror our own, and we'd like to request donations in lieu of flowers, so that we can raise awareness and improve diagnosis and research into this terrible disease. We hope that some of the stories will help his friends to understand what happened.

Pancreatitis is often under diagnosed, and although this was unexpected, we wonder whether Keith was misdiagnosed with IBS for many years. We may never know what caused the pancreatitis, or whether it was chronic before this attack, which is often the case with pancreatitis. Pancreatitis has a few known causes, none of which make sense to us.
Keith was generally healthy, he enjoyed the gym and days out walking, he loved to travel and to explore new places, and he was passionate about his work educating patients within forensic mental health. He loved to spend time with both his friends and family, and he had so much to look forward to.
Keith proposed in December 2021, and we were just weeks away from moving into our shared home. He actually tried to sign the contract papers whilst in hospital - he was so worried about letting people down! Keith was incredibly excited for what 2022 and the rest of our years together would bring.
