I have decided to raise money for Cancer Research and my reasons are simple. I have had cancer and have been lucky, in many ways. For one, I survived. But one of the things that stays with me the most is what I experienced when I went for my chemotherapy. I was expecting hair loss and sickness and it terrified me. But on my first day the nurse gave me an A4 page with all of my tablets taped to it. My cocktail. One of the tablets was going to prevent my hair falling out, and at age 22, that was a huge relief. Another tablet was to prevent me vomitting all the time, and it did. My preconceptions went straight out the window. So, although chemo is truly awful and you feel crap all the time, I was able to focus on some positives and was grateful for my small mercies. And that is thanks to Cancer Research.
