For 18 months I have been a trustee of a charity for street children but found it frustrating to just be in the boardroom in London so I have decided to volunteer a month of my time on the ground in Goa, India in January/February 2020. 

El Shaddai is a child rescue charity. It homes and educates orphans and street children. El Shaddai runs 35 projects and I will be working as an outreach worker in one or more of them. I hope this will be the first of many visits and will be life changing for both the children and myself. 

I've asked them how I can help in advance with fundraising and they sent me a long list for 3 of their homes starting with 150 pairs of velcro school shoes - only £3.30 a pair so your tenner could give shoes to 3 children! If we go beyond the £500 target, the list also asks for school uniforms at £24 per child so let's see how much we can raise.....let's help some children in need.  

I don't think I have ever raised money directly for anything before, so if I have ever sponsored or helped you in anyway, I'd be grateful if you would help me with this now.
