Update 2024 - world kidney day run is 18 miles this year!

Craig is doing great on Tolvaptan. Charlie is 13 yrs old this year & is doing brilliant,  his 2 kidneys are covered in cysts filled with fluid, some are really big and then he has new ones constantly growing all around the edges. He is healthy though!

More research is needed so this is my reason for continuing to run/walk to raise awareness & funds.

 Update - 2023 - World Kidney Day event, 11th march, running 17k.

Staying active every day in march for PKD. I will run or walk each day.

Also craig, Charlie's dad has been given Tolvaptan to trial. This is a huge breakthrough & the reason I do what I do, to give PKD patients hope & a chance at living with polycystic kidney disease.

I started fundraising in may 2014 because I was absolutely devastated and broken when I found out my little boy had PKD knowing what horrible times lie ahead in regards to tests, illnesses, possible renal failure, dialysis, transplant.  No mother or father wants that life for their children!  I want to help make a difference and by running to raise money I can.

My little Charlie (11 years old) & my hubby craig both have PKD... an incurable disease....Polycystic Kidney Disease.

Charlie was diagnosed with polycystic kidney disease at just 6 weeks old.

Both his kidneys have several fluid filled cysts on them which will continue to grow & spread.

It has affected my husbands family in terrible ways throughout the years, his nan passed away whilst on dialysis, his father passed away at just 42 years of age and more money needs to be raised to help get some more research done in order to find a cure so little Charlie can have a much better chance later on without needing dialysis or transplant as do many other sufferers.

Any amount you donate will be appreciated by myself,  my family & all PKD sufferers :)

Thankyou xxx kay

Update - we have seen that Charlie's kidneys are now both full of cysts with new ones growing all around the edges of the kidneys. He is still healthy though with a good function 😀💚💜 The super hero.
