Story
Hello everyone!
My name is Katie and I have lived in Wiltshire for the past 15 years. I was educated locally but have recently graduated from the University of Liverpool. Although I really enjoyed my time in a big city, I have to say that I am definitely a country girl at heart!
A few weeks ago I signed up to complete a 100km trek across the Sahara desert in order to raise money for the Wiltshire Air Ambulance. Many people have asked why I am doing it. It's simple really, the Air Ambulance is a charity that solely relies on donations so it's imperative that we raise as much money as possible to keep the helicopter airborne! It is a crucial, life saving service needed especially here in Wiltshire as the county has many A and B roads and remote areas that aren't easily accessible by land vehicles. Just think, if you had an accident atop the White Horse Hill at Cherhill or similar, who would come and rescue you? The Air Ambulance, that's who!
Aside from raising money for an incredibly worthy charity, I have signed up for this trek for self enrichment purposes. I am super excited at the chance to be able to walk across the Sahara desert, it is a once in a life time experience and I feel very privileged to be apart of it.
I know that many of you already donate to charity, we are a great giving nation but please, please, please if you can sponsor me please do so! They say that charity begins at home. Wiltshire is my home, your home, so lets pull together now to raise money for the Air Ambulance! Hope you will help me achieve my goal.
Thank you for reading everyone and take care!
Katie x
