Hey everyone! I took on a new role at Golddigger Trust this year and as part of that role we have started creating wellbeing workshops for our young people to attend each week during term time. They are an opportunity for any young person to come along and learn new tips and techniques for looking after their wellbeing.
We run these workshops based on our wellbeing themes including MOVE - Movement is a great way to release endorphins (which make you feel happy and positive). Regular physical activity is associated with lower rates of depression and anxiety across all age groups so getting up and moving is great for your wellbeing. Movement doesn’t always need to be high impact. Stretching and challenging your body in stillness, strong posture and muscle stretches is an amazing way to invest in your physical health. In our ‘move’ wellbeing workshops we’ll help young people to get their bodies moving through, walking, stretching and exercise in a safe and non-judgemental environment.
In order to run these workshops we'd love to invest in a set of yoga mats - these cost approximately £15 each so we'd love to find 12 people to sponsor us a yoga mat! Any extra money raised will go into providing equipment for our workshops at Golddigger Trust.
