Walking In Remembrance of Barb Osmond, 'Pops', Nana & Alice Brailey

Bath Midnight Walk 2015 · 12 September 2015 ·
I have lost people over the past 9 years that Dorothy House helped immensely in their time of need. Their staff are exceptional & I have a lot of respect for all the work they do.
I will be donning my bunny pj's playsuit for the occasion & intend to treat myself to a Schwartz Bros burger & fries at the end!
2006: My step mum Barbara Osmond passed away at home with her daughters, my dad & I by her side after years of battling various cancers. Dorothy house were an excellent support not only for Barb but for us too. I still think of her all the time & still talk to her, she was a large part of my life for 18 years & I will never forget her. All of us participated in the walk in 2007, & released balloons at Dorothy House in her memory. Now I am going to do it again in rememberance of all of the people who have touched my life:
2013: Ralph Newble - 'Pops', my husbands grandfather, passed away at Dorothy House after a short fight with cancer. He had spent 3 weeks in a hospital near his home until we managed to get him transferred to Dorothy House just 24 hours before he passed away. In those few short hours he received more care in Dorothy House than he had in the whole time at hospital. The staff were also incredibly supportive to us, allowing all of us (approx 7) to stay overnight at his bedside - & offered a room to sleep plus making us teas & coffees.
2014: My Nana passed away at home with her children by her side in November last year. My Dad, Aunt & Uncle spent many months caring for her alongside Hospice medical staff at her bungalow & Dorothy house once again were a huge help. My Nana was a wonderful woman, & we really miss her.
2015: Only a few short weeks ago a childhood school friend passed away at Dorothy House, she was 28 years old. An incredibly brave, bright, happy person that I am glad to have known. Someone who laughed with me, got sent out of class with me, had sleepovers, & was with me through lots of other teenage drama's.
