We are organising a charity football match, in honour of Lana Kaye Murphy, to raise funds for Tiny Lives.
Tiny Lives is a registered charity that helps to care for premature and
sick newborn babies and their families and are based in the Special
Care Baby Unit of the Newcastle Neonatal Service based in Ward 35 of the
Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle.
Although it was absolutely heartbreaking for Gemma
and I when Lana passed away we feel so lucky to have had Tiny
Lives there to support us. Without them we would not have able to create
such special memories in the short time Lana was with us. As a result we want to give something back and support other parents in the future.
Taking place on Saturday 28th February at Filtrona Park, South Shields, the match will be a competitive, but friendly game between friends and family. Everyone
is welcome to come and watch and support us. Kick off is at 2pm, but
please arrive before this as we're expecting a big crowd. There will be a
warm up prior to kick off, as well as photographs. A trophy will also
be presented to the winners. After the match we will have use of the bar
until 7pm.
This event is FREE to attend, but any
contributions will be gratefully received! Everyone involved in the
match itself will be donating at least £10 minimum. There will be
collection buckets on the day for spectators and you can also donate via
our Just Giving page. All donations will be given directly to Tiny
Lives.
We hope see as many people as possible there on the day!
All of the lads who will be involved in the game are very excited and
honoured to be doing so, so please come and support them. I think we can
all agree that Tiny Lives is a fantastic charity and a very worthy
cause.
Let's do Lana proud x
