Karen was an inspiration and a friend to everyone involved with the pool.  We have acknowledged other key players who are no longer with us and it would be great to build something useful that helps us remember her too -- every time we use it. 

When we are busy (which is invariably in the hot weather) people often have to queue to get a swim in our cosy little pool, and the earlier they arrive the better the chance they have of getting in.  So we plan to build a retractable canopy over the queuing area to give our customers some respite from the sun and a better experience at the pool.

We are sure this is consistent with Karen's values for the pool -- focus on the customers, better quality experience and happier folks to approach us when they come to the payment counter.

We are still working on the optimum design and so don't have a cost estimate, but we think something a bit over £1000 will do it.  And we want it to be good quality and durable.  Hence the figure we have put above...

I hope you can help us with this: It will help people who use the pool and we think it will be totally in line with Karen's wishes for the place she loved and supported so profoundly
