Story

It is with great sadness that I have chosen to open this Just Giving Page.

My husband Gary Ennis one of the kindest most genuine people you could ever meet unfortunately died in the early hours of Saturday morning as a result of an tragic accident on his racing bike.

Maureen and Stan his mum and dad, his brother Paul and I were blown away by the quantity of well wishes we received during his stay in Preston Royal Hospital; where the Critical Care Unit moved heaven and earth in his care.

One of those messages was from someone who wanted to set up a Just Giving page on the families behalf.  Whilst this was a lovely gesture, it didn't feel quite right to us - so we've had a little think....

I guess a lot of you will already know that Gary and I have close connections with Alder hey Children's Hospital.  It has always been our chosen charity and we raised around £14000 for them last year when I swam the English Channel something that would never have been possible without Gary's unerring support.  We think that Gary would see it as a good thing for those of you who want to, to honour his name by contributing to this worthy cause.

If not, maybe just leave a message as his family and I are taking great comfort from them and really appreciate your continued support which has been so many different ways.
