Story
My name is Karen Clark and I live in Jersey. I am making double layer 100% cotton masks for people who want to use fabric masks to help slow the spread of Coronavirus. If you have had a mask from me and would like to make a donation, please do. I'm not asking to be paid for my time and I don't want money to fund fabrics as I am using my own supply of fabrics.
If you need a mask, please email me on kc2020@clarkclan.co.uk and I will try to help. If I am at capacity and unable to help, I will email you back and let you know so that you can move on to the next possible mask maker.
I am no expert on the subject, but if you have not seen the #masks4all video, I suggest you view it on https://masks4all.org/. The case evidence is compelling.
My research and what the news reports are telling me is that two layers of cotton fabric are quite good for slowing the spread of the virus. Obviously, these are not medical grade masks and will not stop you from catching the virus but fabric masks can help protect others during the times when you must be out in public. Social distancing, hand washing and staying home as much as possible are the most important steps you can take to protect yourself and your community! And what we definitely don't want is for everyone to buy up surgical masks and further deplete the world supply of PPE that our front line medics desperately need to treat the critically ill. Don't be a part of the problem.
All donations are going to Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust. I worked there for 10 years and my husband has been there over 30 years. Durrell need support to get it through this time as they have had to close their gates to the public and no longer have an income stream from ticket sales.
We are all in this together. Stay safe everyone and see you on the other side.
