Virgin London Marathon 2013 · 21 April 2013 ·
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I'm running/walking/limping/crawling the London Marathon next year in memory of my cousin, Dawn Wragg, in celebration of my Mum, Ann Birch and in support of a dear friend, Natalie Lynam.
Anyone who knows me well will know what a ridiculous idea this is :-), but running the London Marathon is something I have always wanted to do and I have surprised myself with my dedication to my training (the thought of running 26.2 miles will do that to you!).
My cousin Dawn lost her fight against breast cancer, after a long brave fight in 2008, and dedicated most of her time to fund-raising for The Cavendish Centre in Sheffield, a centre to provide support for Cancer patients.
Shortly after in 2008, Mum was diagnosed with breast cancer. Luckily she caught it early, and has been in remission since 2008. Mum lives life to the full, running a bowling club, enjoying a full social life and going on endless holidays :-).
My friend Natalie is currently, very bravely fighting this illness and I'm blown away by her courage. Natalie just wanted to say a few words ........
"Angels come in many guises and many forms -and those who give their time, support energy and efforts to raise support and money to guide us towards a cure or to ease the pain of suffering of victims and their families are truly life's Earth Angels. Thank you from one who has met some of these angels and I pray that everyone might be graced by their presence, kindness and thoughtfulness in their fight to overcome cancer" Natalie xx
I know that, unfortunately, cancer will have touched many people's lives.
I would be so grateful if you could help by sponsoring me and help raise valuable funds for Breast Cancer Care.
Thank you so so much, love Karen x
