Story

My baby cousin Archie passed away towards the end of last month. He was 5 and a half months old and although we knew he was poorly before he was even born, we lived each day in hope that we will stay strong and live on.

Unfortunately Archie let his mum and dad know when he could take it no more and all life support machines were turned off. He died in my cousins arms with most of his loved ones around him. Unfortunately for me, I never met Archie as he is in Wales.

Before Archie passed away I had decided that I wanted to sky dive. I also had decided I wanted to do it for a charity as I often donate to many charities and like the idea of helping a charity make money because of something I would love to do anyway. I have chosen to raise money for the Great Ormond Street Hospital. Not only because they treat sick and injured children, but because they spend millions of pounds a year researching new medicines and working out how some illnesses can be prevented. Maybe one day children born with the condition that Archie had (
large exomphalos - which means in his case that his bowel, lung and intestines were on the outside of his belly and causing a lot of pressure on his tiny lungs) will live on much MUCH further than Archie got to.

I really appreciate you sponsoring my page. As much or as little – it doesn’t matter. I just want to help create a little more awareness about what the Great Ormond Street Hospital is doing and show Archie and his parents that they are in my thoughts.

Thank you,

:)
