I am doing this as part of my DofE Bronze. Through my school studies and family, I have become aware of the inter-generational consequences of war and how life-debilitating PTSD is. However, there are now empirically tested treatments for PTSD and other related trauma symptoms, which can be life-saving. SurvivorsUK provides such treatments for men who’ve been sexually abused as many suffer Complex PTSD as a result of the trauma they experienced. Every year in the UK, thousands of men are sexually abused or assaulted and of those who are able to talk about it, it takes an average of 26 years silence for them to do so.

 SurvivorsUK also challenges stereotypes and taboos that prevent men speaking about what’s happened to them.

I am a typical teenager (14) who has kept in touch with friends during Covid, through gaming together, so thought I would challenge myself to play 14 different characters in League of Legends to raise at least £140 for SurvivorsUK, choosing this charity as my dad volunteers there.
