Story
Welcome, and thanks for visiting our fundraising page. The KPMG London Transaction Services team is fundraising for Mind in order to help them with the fantastic work they do, providing advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem, campaigning to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding.
This cause is particularly close to our hearts given the unexpected loss of a dear friend and colleague last year, who we all miss greatly. Her presence both in the office and outside of it is sorely missed, and emphasises the sudden and unpredictable nature of the struggles many of us face internally.
Our fundraising programme includes various challenges and events being undertaken by team members, outlined below. So if you are kind enough to donate, every penny would be hugely appreciated.
Fundraising events
Three Peaks Challenge
22 members of the team are undertaking the Three Peaks Challenge on the 14th September which involves climbing the three highest peaks in Scotland (Ben Nevis), England (Scafell Pike) and Wales (Snowdon) and travelling between each, all in under 24 hours.
The challenge involves total walking of over 23 miles with an ascent of more than 3,000 metres – to put it in perspective, the vertical ascent from Everest base camp to summit is roughly the same.
Participants: Gareth Knee, Gary Hinton, Chris Sheppard, Rishi Daggar, Cat Flower, Alex Saklow, Steph Fare, Emma Shearer, Chrissie Mottram, Kishen Pandya, Jolene Sew, Ruth Watts, Anthony Gullan, Clare O'Brien, Hector Bow, Hirra Naeem, Lewis Minister, Amy Lashmar, Bella Roberts, Ali Jordan, Charlotte McDermott, Sam Sorrell.
Silent auction
The team ran a silent auction over 3 weeks in July, which included 62 lots and raised a huge £4,800!! This was only possible through prizes kindly being donated by companies and individuals who are supporting our fundraising initiatives.
Completed challenges
Well done to Peter Sullivan who went sober for February and shaved his head in May 2018, raising money and awareness for mental health issues.
Thanks for your support,
KPMG London Transaction Services team
