Story
Karen was a loving and caring wife to Craig, daughter to Robert and Marian, and sister to Claire.
Karen was born on the 22nd of July 1974 with a congenital heart condition. She had surgery at 3 months old, further open heart surgery at 4 years old, and final corrective surgery at 18 years of age. All surgery was carried out at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children.
Karen grew up in Rushden, Northamptonshire, and was educated at Dame Alice Harper school in Bedford.
Karen gained a bachelor's degree in engineering from The University of Birmingham in 1995, which led to work at MG Rover as a senior development engineer. In 1998 she moved to Aston Martin starting in engineering but eventually going on to hold the position of Director, Product Strategy & Planning. Karen was an influential figure in the automotive industry, playing a highly significant role in the growth of Aston Martin in the early 2000s. In 2017 Karen was nominated as one of the Autocar Great Women - Rising Stars.
As well as her passion for Aston Martin, Karen was well known around the racing circuits of the UK supporting her husband Craig with his motorsport hobby. She was an enthusiastic rugby supporter, following Northampton Saints and England. And she enjoyed travelling and visiting new places and adventures.
Karen’s kindness, warm personality and infectious smile was felt by all who met her.
She will be hugely missed by all her family and friends.
