Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On the 11th September our Mum was diagnosed with terminal Cancer, unfortunately because of the current Pandemic she was not seen by health services and the Cancer had spread from her lungs to her spine and bones. This meant we had no option for our Mum to start treatment to prologue her life. It was with sadness my brother and I fought to get her home. We had hoped to have more time but that wasn’t to be. After a week of my mum seeing everyone who was important, she began to deteriorate her pain became unmanageable and she died on the 5th October with my brother by her side.
Our Mum didn’t want a funeral and due to the restrictions or Covid we are unable to celebrate her life in the way we and others would want to. For that reason my Brother and I will be donating the money we would have spent on the funeral, past the cremation, to the Rising Sun Domestic Abuse Charity.
This page has been set up for those who would of wanted to buy flowers, or would have traveled to the funeral, or anyone else that would like to honour our Mums memory. To raise money for a cause that was close to my Mums heart, through her want to help others and through her personal experience of domestic abuse. My mum campaigned tirelessly to help others both in her local community and in a wider context. Even as a teenager, she and her Simon Langton School Friends campaigned for ‘Battered Women’. Our Mums ability to see the needs of people, even when she herself was suffering was an incredible force and we will always be proud of the woman she was.
As a family we will forever be grateful for services like the rising sun and the changes they help bring to children and their families.
With love and Sadness Justine and Russell ❤️🌈
