Story
After having recently recovered from COVID 19 and seen for myself the hard work and care the NHS staff provide, though I’ve always had the utmost respect for the NHS I do believe they are all heroes and I really wanted to do something to thank them In some way. It was a very scary time for me and my family and we appreciate every one of you as I was very lucky. So I decided I was going to host a quiz on the 30th May raising monies for this worthwhile cause, though feeling I needed to do more I decided to walk 50 miles for the NHS. So by the time I host the quiz I hope to have reached my 50 mile target and my fundraising goal 😊
The spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) is affecting all of our lives and while we make sense of this new reality, our NHS is facing extreme pressure. At this difficult time for us all, were determined to do everything we can to support the remarkable staff at Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust who are leading the fight on the frontline in our community hospitals, mental health and learning disability units and in the community. In addition to the physical health implications of COVID-19, many of our patients and service users also have mental health or learning disability needs which are adversely affected by the fear, anxiety and uncertainty caused by coronavirus. Weve set up this special relief fund to provide emergency funds to support our staff at this incredibly difficult time and to provide additional resources for patients currently in our care. Please give whatever you can to support your local NHS.
