We raise funds for children with DIPG to bring treatment options to the UK

Story

hanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Having attended a company day recently where I had the privilege of listening to the story of Eva, told by her father, it was a story you find impossible to forget.  Having been diagnosed at the age of 9 with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma, or 'DIPG' their lives were changed forever.

Every year in the UK, around 40 children are diagnosed with DIPG, and are told to 'go home and make memories'

It is terminal upon diagnosis and average survival is less than 10 months. It is inoperable and Chemotherapy doesn't work.

It is underfunded and under researched.

Eva battled her diagnosis for 12 months and 8 days.

Help me to help them to find a suitable cure.

I am an avid rower usually on the River Wear in a quad or single.  The challenge of a longer stretch of water and 8 locks will be interesting to say the least.  Starting at St Neots and rowing up to Denver, a total of 85k.  Let's hope the weather is good!

All donations greatly received.

Thank you for your support.

About the charity

Our foundation supports children diagnosed with DIPG and their families by providing boxes filled with presents and treasures, to help bring a smile to faces during such difficult times. In addition to this, we fund raise to bring treatment options for DIPG to the UK where none currently exist.
