MORRIS DANCING for Warrington Neo-natal unit at my 50th Birthday Celebration, 17 May 2014

Story

Hi Everyone. I am putting on my short dress, shaking my shakers and polishing my bells and, "Morris Dancing" for the Warrington Neo-natal unit at my birthday party on the 17th May 2014. We are looking for sponsorship and are asking for your help.

My SPECIAL birthday is fast approaching and weeks ago, after meeting up with a good friend, we shared some memories and the next thing, we had reunited our Morris Dancing Troupe, "The Crickettes".  We danced as a Troupe between over 20-35 years ago (we were UK Champions in our day you know?).  We decided to get together and dance for charity.  We decided to donate all monies raised to the charity who cares for special babies at Warrington Hospital.

Why?  We are dancing in memory of a special lady (Norma, our founder and Auntie Norma), Michelle Lofthouse’s mum who sadly passed away a number of years ago. She worked as a sister on a premature baby unit and dedicated most of her spare time to running our morris dancing troupe. The charity is also ‘very special’ to a number of ladies in the troupe.

So whilst celebrating my birthday, we decided it was an ideal opportunity for us to do something special and perform our ‘dance for charity’ at the same time so my close friend Michelle Lofthouse helped me to arrange this and rallied all the ladies together.  So here we are, approx 6 weeks away from dancing our hearts out.  I know it is hard out there, with all the various charities however, it would be a brilliant birthday treat to dance for all my family, friends and work colleagues (past and present), have great fun with the 'ladies' and raise money for a great cause.  Its extremely hard work and all the ladies have put so much effort into practising and preparing themselves 'physically' and mentally to dance.

We would also like to say a big “THANK YOU” to Burtonwood CatholicClub for allowing us to practise our routine each week in their function room.

Our story and picture will feature in the Warrington Guardian shortly after this event

We would welcome any support towards this great cause and thank you.

Update!  Donated via just giving, £123.  Via sponsorship, £65 which was paid into the hospital cash office on 5/6/14.
