Having recently returned from Marrakesh with a group of friends I was deeply disturbed and upset by the abuse and neglect I witnessed of the horses and donkeys there and I want to do something to help. Working animals were chained together for hours on end with no food, water or shelter. They had sores and blistered skin from the poorly fitted harnesses that they have to wear all day, they are tired and skinny and have no body to help them and expected to work and carry heavy loads. Every horse and donkey that we saw was lame and struggled to walk, let alone work.  

The charity I am supporting helps educate the next generation in the local schools as to how they should be treated. They do regular spot checks and have a free veterinary service available to all the working animals, alongside keeping a watch on what is going on. These animals need a voice, they need help and support, and things need to change.
