Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
To mark the second year anniversary of the tragic passing of Justin Edinburgh I am taking on the challenge of giving up alcohol for one year. In June 2019, Justin suffered a cardiac arrest at a gym. There was no defibrillator on site so staff had to source one from a nearby shopping centre, losing precious minutes that could have given him a fighting chance of survival.
His family are aiming to secure "Justin's Law" which will require a change in legislation to ensure defibrillators are provided in all health and sports facilities across the UK. Incredibly, cardiac arrest victims who are treated with CPR and a defibrillator within the first 3-5 minutes, increase their chances of survival dramatically from just 6% to 74% - it is literally the difference between life and death. I am determined to "give it up for Justin" and so by giving up alcohol, will donate money saved from not drinking for this really important cause.
Justin's son Charlie, has set up a registered charity - the JE3 Foundation - which will serve as a legacy in memory of his dad. It would make me so happy if you could support and encourage me over the next 12 months and if possible, make a donation to this amazing charity so we can help make a difference.
For those of you who know me, you will realise that going alcohol free is a proper challenge and whilst this is a serious issue, I also hope to have some sober fun along the way !
Thank you so much in advance for your support, all non-alcoholic drink recommendations welcome !
