Story
Hello
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I'm running the London Marathon in memory of my friend, team-mate & lacrosse legend Vivien Jones.
Vivien played for Wales in six world cups between 1982 and 2001, three as a player-coach, she will be remembered as one of the greats of the female lacrosse world. Her playing career spanned five decades, her international career lasted for more than 25 years. By the time she stood down from her international playing career, she had played 97 times for Wales, nine times for the Celts (Wales & Scotland) and twice for Great Britain – a total of 108 caps which is, according to Guinness World Records, the highest for women's lacrosse.
Vivien who died of breast cancer aged 59, was rightly described as a lacrosse legend.
I'm running to raise money for Maggie's Centres because of the fantastic support they gave Vivien in her fight against cancer.
