Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page
Just after Christmas 2018 I decided to take part in Walk 1000 miles 2019 to boost my fitness levels as well as to enjoy the wonderful countryside in which we live! In order to achieve my goal I need to walk an average of 3 miles a day. I quickly got into a routine of walking instead of taking the car and besides having discovered so many new paths I feel so much fitter! Once I realized that I really could walk 1000 miles this year I decided that I would fundraise for CLIC Sargent. To date I have walked 512 miles so I feel confident that I will reach 1000 by 31st December!!

On June 19th 2018 our normally very fit and healthy 6 year old grandson Devon was diagnosed with leukaemia. Devastating and heart breaking news and he was immediately admitted to Bristol Children's Hospital where his treatment began. This involves many drugs, which have affected him both physically and mentally but very rarely has our brave little soldier complained or said why me.This regime will continue for another 2 years or more..Devon's doctors are extremely pleased with his progress so far.
Steve and Nicola, Devon's parents were immediately assigned Ali and Sarah as their CLIC nurses, who besides doing the routine taking of blood for testing have ALWAYS been there to help Devon through the really bad times and to offer advice to Steve and Nicola.
CLIC Sargent also gave them access to a Social Worker, who guided them through all the initial administrative work and signposted the benefits and treats to which they were entitled.
To sum up, in Steve's own words "CLIC Sargent have been so helpful, it's hard to imagine going through this very difficult time, without their support."
Please help me to raise lots of money for CLIC Sargent, who make the lives of young cancer sufferers and their families more bearable .
