Story

Sept 2021 update:

We have been absolutely amazed & delighted to have raised £11,700, (plus gift aid an additional £2,600) for St Peter’s hospice in memory of our lovely mum/Angela. This completely surpassed our expectations and we sought comfort and pride with every donation and comment on this page. Thank you all so much - we are incredibly grateful.

As a family, (and with a little help from some friends!) we will be completing the 10 mile Midnight Walk on 11th Sept 2021 to remember mum and to continue to fundraise for the hospice.

St Peter’s Hospice provides the most personalised, dedicated care when families need them the most. They need our help now more than ever and this has spurred us on to take part in the Midnight Walk to help raise vital funds.

If you wish to get involved and are able to donate - thank you. We are so grateful for your generosity.

Love from Angela’s family ❤️

We have started this fundraising page to raise money for St. Peter’s hospice who provided our mum with such fantastic care.

Mum was diagnosed with cancer in her appendix and stomach lining at the end of feb. She was able to have chemotherapy for a short period but we were then told this was not working and the cancer was spreading. Despite the worry, the pain and discomfort mum took this in her stride and continued to always put others before herself and showed courage like we’ve never seen before.
Not only did mum have to deal with a terminal illness she had the added complications of COVID-19 meaning she had to attend all appointments/treatment alone and could not spend time with family/friends when she needed them the most.

On the 21st Oct mum moved to St. Peter’s after spending 3 very difficult weeks at southmead. Mum was at the hospice for 2 weeks and in that time she received exceptional, attentive care from all of the staff at St. Peter’s hospice.
They assisted in creating an early Christmas Day for Mum which she loved and was a great moment for all the family.

Despite COVID restrictions the hospice still gave an incredible service to our family and we are eternally grateful for that. The staff also provided family support and comfort which made the very difficult time that little bit easier.

We are so fortunate to have been able to use St. Peter’s hospice and when we found out about their funding crisis we just knew we had to help.
Therefore we will be doing a series of fundraising events using this page to help and support other families like ours,

We (Angela’s family and friends) will be completing the Bristol 3 peaks challenge which is 16.7 miles on the 12th December 2020 so your donations to this fundraising event will also be appreciated.

The route starts in Chew Magna and goes through Norton Malreward, Pensford, Hunstrete and Clutton before returning to Chew Magna. The 'peaks’ are Maes Knoll, Blackberry Hill and Knowle Hill.
