Story
The Declan John Foundation is a charity set up in honour of my nephew, Declan, who was born sleeping on 26th February 2020. The charity hopes to provide comfort and make memories for families that have experienced baby loss so that their precious children are never forgotten. Baby loss is something that our family has been touched by and since losing my son, Jonah George Atkinson on 30th January 2018 I have seen first hand the impact this type of work can have in supporting families.
I’m very proud of Zoe and Simon for setting up this charity for their little boy and I’m hoping to raise some with the final stage of my year long running challenge.
Last April I began running in an aim to improve my health and I have completed a range of challenges I didn’t think would be possible:
10K races - Manchester, Darlington, Delamere
Half Marathons - The Great North Run, Delamere, Manchester
Marathon - TBC
Ultra - Chester 50
The final challenge is to complete Manchester Marathon on Sunday 14th April and if you we able to support with a donation, no matter how small, it would mean a lot.
