Story
Hello all,
I am going to shave my head to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support!
*Due to the amazing generosity of everyone, I have slightly increased my target, thank you all so much!*
As you may be aware, my father was diagnosed with a brain tumour a while back, and Macmillan have provided him, our family and many other families with invaluable support.
They provide help with many areas and to quote their website are: a source of support, helping with all the things that people affected by cancer want and need. It's not only patients who live with cancer, also carers and families. They fund nurses and other specialist health care professionals and build cancer care centres. They also give so much more than medical help, they provide a wide range of services such as: practical support at home, a lift to the hospital, information, advice, and help with forms and administration. People need emotional support, so they listen, advise and share information through their cancer support specialists, website and trained professionals. People need financial help to cope with the extra costs cancer can bring, so they also give benefits advice, and grants for anything from heating bills to travel costs.
As for me, I have had my hair long for nearly a decade and it will be a drastic change, but hopefully I can raise some money for such a good cause!
Thank you!
J
